We can all be proud of this young man in the De Joode family. Richard De Joode (better known to us as Dickie, but now most call him Rich)... Congratulations are in store. Also, his daughter (Angie Ofstead) beside him is working for the Des Moines Police. So proud of them both.
On July 24, 2014, Richard De Joode received a Certificate of Commendation --
Two Des Moines Police Officers and one Assistant Polk County Attorney were
given the Police Department's Letter of Commendation in a ceremony held on
Wednesday.
Congratulations to SPO Richard De Joode for his outstanding work in the Pawn
Shop Detail. He has been instrumental in recovering hundreds of thousands of
dollars in property. He has also helped to renovate the pawn shop data base.
Congrats to Senior Police Officer Brady Carney and Assistant County Attorney
Steve Bayens for their outstanding work and collaboration in the investigation
of the sale of dangerous Synthetic Cannibanoids. Several search warrants netted
multiple suspects, paraphernalia, drugs and financial records leading to the
discovery of money laundering, tax evasion and a multitude of other finical
crimes. Daughter Angie (standing beside her dad) is also working for the Des Moines Police Department, so if you are speeding and get stopped by a cute little lady, you just might get a ticket.... Many comments were also posted about Richard from the community that they were so grateful to have someone like him on the police force. We are so proud of Richard and know his father would be also.
